Unique Tattoo Ideas

Friday, June 24th, 2011

It’s not difficult to find unique tattoo ideas, if you know where to look.  If you are looking for unique tattoo ideas for the first time, you may benefit from the tips I have prepared below.  Finding the perfect unique tattoo takes patience because it takes time to finally set your eyes adhesively to one that you think is for you.  This is always the case whether you are a first-timer or a pro.

Tip No.1 – Tattoo conventions are where you can find unique tattoo ideas most of the times because thousands of tattooed people gather there to show off their body art.  So, if I were you, I’d take a weekend off and go to one of these conventions in order to find the tattoo that you’ve been looking for, and even if you won’t, I’m sure you’d still have a great time on your trip.

Tip No.2 - What is the general design style you have in mind for your ideal tattoo?  Is it traditional, tribal or something current?  It is important that you set your mind strongly on the general design.  It is much better to go for a design that has a personal meaning to you rather than just going with what’s in or trendy at the moment.  The trendy design now might not seem as cool as you thought it is a couple of years from now.

Tip No.3 – What are the things in life you are attracted to or you feel particularly attached to?  This can be something that are derived from particularly unforgettable life experiences or images that you strongly think are cool.  Yes, there are a lot of currently cool and amazing designs available anywhere but do these designs speak or relatable to you?  This is why I highly recommend that when you look for unique tattoo ideas, you make your decision a very personal one so won’t ever regret choosing it even after 10 years have gone.

Tip No.4 – Tattoo gallery websites literally have hundreds of the latest unique designs that are high quality.  These sites are constantly updated so you are guaranteed that you’ll always have access to what are the best and latest designs out there.  But don’t think that tattoo magazines are dead because of these online tattoo websites, no.  These magazines are still alive, so don’t hesitate to look for and check one right now.  You can also get unique tattoo ideas anywhere you go.  All you have to do is to have a keen eye for it – wall graffiti can be one or an artistic ad billboard.

Tip No.5 – Finally, do not ever allow anyone to talk you into going for a design that you are not sure of.  Just take your time in choosing one.  Don’t get impatient and allow a friend to choose one for you.  Remember, tattoos are permanent; a friend sometimes won’t be.

Getting a Tattoo Removed

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Did you ever have a permanent tattoo and now you wanted it to be removed. Since tattoo became more popular, tattoo removal became a possible treatment option for everyone who wanted a permanent tattoo to be removed. The tattoo removal process is actually expensive and painful. Due to demands, tattoo removal become a common practice, and also accessible and effective.

The removal process usually involves a non-invasive method of removing the pigment in the dermis with the use of lasers. Having a tattoo removal is never simple and involves multiple treatments to be completed. Usually the treatments spread out into six to week increments. The timely long process will allow the pigment to be fully absorbed by the skin for complete healing. Tattoo removal is actually lightening the tattoo over time. Dark tattoo pigment aren’t very difficult to removed compared to yellow and green.

Mostly, getting a tattoo removed is because of regrets. Statistics revealed that 17% of people wanted a tattoo removal because of regrets. These are the most common regrets:

  • It is not very pleasing during job interviews and will make them look less professional
  • They were young when they first had it
  • They simply didn’t want it anymore. They outgrow it.
  • If the tattoo is a name, they simply reminded them of the person they no longer involve

There is no exact number for how many treatments should be done. It is actually determined and will depend on different factors such as age, size and depth of the tattoo. But in general removal, tattoos on the ankle and forearm are usually the hardest to remove. The easiest are those which contain only one color and are dark and embedded.

The Tattoo Procedure and How Tattoo Works in Your Skin

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Tattoos popularity rises for the coming of years but the tattoo procedure still remains a mystery for people who have not been under the needle or tattooed. However, it is it is really quite simple to learn and understand how it’s done and how it works.

I guess you already have an idea that in tattooing, a needle is inserted into the skin. It is true, however in broader knowledge; the procedure simply involves inserting pigment into the skin. Science wise, the procedure is injecting pigment into the dermis, while the epidermis is damaged in the process of injecting and flakes off. By the way, dermis and epidermis are the two layers of the skin. The epidermis is the outermost layer, while the dermis is the second layer. Back to the process of damaging the epidermis, in time the epidermis will heal with the growth of collagen in the dermis. As it heals, the pigment goes deeper in a lower part of the dermis, making the tattoo permanent. If the pigment sinks into the lowest part of the dermis, the tattoo slowly loses its shine. After the tattoo procedure, the skin goes to a healing process; the process usually involves discomfort and itching. The itching and discomfort stop when the tattoo is no longer dull or flaking, and means it is healed. Some people, after a tattoo procedure, they will experience bleeding and pain.

This is only an overview of the tattoo procedure, but this will help you understand how and what makes tattoo a tattoo.

Tattoos and Its Kind and Type

Friday, April 1st, 2011

Tattoos are design or body art inserted in an indelible ink, most commonly by a needle, into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment. Tattoos usually come in various forms, and were used ornamentally and religiously by humans for thousands of years. Humans used tattoos as a decorative body modification; while tattoos on animals are used for identification.

The word tattoo was rooted first to the Samoan tatau, meaning to “strike a mark” which indicated a special making on the skin.

Types of tattoos can differ in the method of which they are obtained or the purpose or the styling of the tattoo. It was primarily used before for spiritual and decorative reason. Next it was used for identification, and recently, for cosmetic and social purposes.

Art never cease to expand, since tattooing is a work of art, its style and purposes continues to grow. The most common types of this art include abstraction, naturalistic, dedication, simplification and complex.

Abstraction is the usual type which comprises very simple designs and can have a little or no meaning. A tattoo that resembles a natural features are  the Naturalistic tattoos. Dedication tattoos are like the society tattoo which usually displays a name or picture intended to show honour, memory or love for loved ones. Simplification tattoos show pictures of animal and or mythical creatures. Finally, the complex tattoo comprises complex imagery that is combined to create a bigger picture.

These aren’t the only types of tattoos. There are also medical tattoos, societal/fraternal/group tattoos.

Other types of tattoos cannot be relate to the style and purpose but on how it will be done, by a professional or amateur.
